Local Delivery Driver/Warehouse Worker (Auburn, MA)

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Loads and unloads trucks.
  2. Places and rotates items in inventory.
  3. Participates in site inventory every other month.
  4. Receives, unpacks, checks and stores inventory and materials.
  5. Fills requisitions and orders.
  6. Packs and prepares products and materials for shipping.
  7. Perform all duties in conformance to appropriate safety and security standards.
  8. Ensure compliance with all Federal, State and Local ordinances affecting this position.
  9. Ensure compliance with all Company policies and programs.
  10. Maintain valid driver’s license and forklift certification to perform responsibilities.
  11. Ensure timely processing of system information and proper documentation concerning inventory transactions (shipments, transfers, receipts, changes in cost/price, etc.).
  12. Clean work area and equipment regularly by removing empty pallets, woods, and plastic.
  13. Assist Warehouse Manager and/or Dispatch Manager with special projects as needed.
  14. Make local deliveries using company van/pick-up truck when required.

EDUCATION:

  • Minimum High School Degree or GED equivalent preferred.

WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • One to two years of previous warehouse experience.
  • Prefer prior forklift certification and/or one to two years of forklift experience.

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Must have current and valid driver’s license.
  • Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification.
  • Hoisting Engineer License – with HE-1C-Telescoping Booms w/o Cables preferred, or willing to obtain.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Prolonged sitting and driving a forklift - must be able to climb, sit, hear (other forklift in motion), grasp, and steer a vehicle in motion.
  • Far and near visual acuity – must be able to see to drive forklift.
  • Load and unload trucks – must be able to lift minimum of 60 pounds regularly in order to load and unload products.
  • Mobility inside the warehouse – must be able to stand for extended periods of time, walk, reach, bend, pull, and grasp.
  • Communication – must be able to talk, hear, see, and comprehend.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Must be self-motivated and can work independently.
  • Ability to follow directions and strong willingness to learn.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
  • Work is routinely performed in a general warehouse environment on a concrete surface, with frequent exposure to both internal and external environment.
  • Frequent exposure to severe weather conditions, both heat and cold.
  • Frequent exposure to dust, and noise levels that exceed a normal threshold.

PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT:

  • Must wear steel-toed boots.
  • Recommended (area specific): Safety glasses, ear plugs, gloves, back brace, and safety suit. Will be provided by Harrell’s upon request.
  • Personal Protective Equipment must be worn in accordance with SDS recommendations.
