Responsibilities include logs, route following via company iPad, vehicle inspections, load security, and maintaining delivery records. Requires a high school diploma and valid license; prior delivery experience preferred.

• Operates company furnished vehicles constantly while obeying all safety and road regulations.
• Completes daily driving logs.
• Follows assigned routes and schedules through the use of a company issued iPad.
• Inspects vehicles before and after trips, reporting any maintenance issues the same day.
• Fuels delivery vehicles by using a company provided credit card and returning documentation of fueling to the store manager on a daily basis.
• Ensures proper handling and securing of goods to prevent damage.
• Obtains delivery confirmations, signatures, or proof of receipt when required.
• Provides exceptionally professional customer service during deliveries.

Job Summary

Job Summary The Delivery Driver is responsible for the safe operation of a motor vehicle and the prompt delivery of products to Weller customers. This position is also responsible for providing outstanding customer service through professional interactions with customers, and obeying all traffic laws and company policies related to the safe operation of a motor vehicle. This role is classified as a safety-sensitive position. The duties of this position require a high level of attentiveness and adherence to safety protocols, as performance errors or impairment could pose a risk to the associate, coworkers, customers, or the public. Associates must maintain the ability to perform their job safely at all times.

The small business thrived so much that in 1949, Harry moved Weller Truck Parts to nearby Grand Rapids, MI. Roles and Responsibilities

• Operates company furnished vehicles constantly while obeying all safety and road regulations.
• Completes daily driving logs.
• Follows assigned routes and schedules through the use of a company issued iPad.
• Inspects vehicles before and after trips, reporting any maintenance issues the same day through the submission of a completed form.
• Fuels delivery vehicles by using a company provided credit card and returning documentation of fueling to the store manager on a daily basis.
• Ensures proper handling and securing of goods to prevent damage.
• Uses rachet straps for securing and un-securing loads; seeking assistance when reach is too extensive.
• Obtains delivery confirmations, signatures, or proof of receipt when required.
• Follows all traffic laws and company policies for safe driving (especially no use of cell phone or tablet while vehicle is in motion).
• Provides exceptionally professional customer service during deliveries.
• Keeps delivery records up to date.
• Maintains the cleanliness of the delivery vehicle using company provided materials, including washing the vehicle as necessary.
• Assists with cleaning the warehouse and bathrooms, as needed.
• Occasionally runs errands to have vehicles serviced and washed, or pick up supplies from area merchants.
• Regular attendance is an essential function of the position; reasonable accommodations may be considered in accordance with applicable laws.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Proven experience as a delivery driver, preferred.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

• Ability to demonstrate strong time management and organizational skills.
• Ability to operate GPS devices and navigation apps in a safe manner.
• Ability to demonstrate excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work in various weather conditions.
• Demonstrates best practices for operating motor vehicles.
• Demonstrates the ability to obey all traffic laws and company policies related to safe operation of a motor vehicle and loading and unloading of loads.

Physical Requirements

Physical stamina for sitting, standing, lifting and/or bending for extended periods of time. Works in various weather conditions. Operates a motor vehicle in various traffic patterns and must be able to respond to immediate changes in traffic speeds. Consistently performs general physical activities that may require considerable use of neck, shoulders, arms, legs, and moving the whole body. Physical activities include climbing, lifting, balancing, walking on uneven surfaces, stooping, and handling materials. Uses active listening skills during an entire shift to follow directions, and to ask and answer questions. Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times. Works in an environment that may have fluctuating temperatures. Stands out of unloading area while product is being unloaded. NEVER: Never climbs into the bed of a truck for any reason.

Pay Range Starting at $11.00/hr.
