Job summary

Linde Gas & Equipment Inc. is hiring a Local Delivery Driver (CDL A or B) for Mt Vernon, IL. Typical schedule is 8:00am-5:00pm with ~10–12 stops daily, handling freight, paperwork, and customer service. Must have 21+, valid CDL, and pass DOT medical; HazMat endorsement preferred or obtainable within 60 days. Position requires lifting up to 75 lbs.

Qualifications

• You have a high school diploma or GED, along with proficiency in reading and writing in English
• You have two years of consecutive driving experience or recent certification, with a valid Class A or B CDL
• Must be 21 years or older
• HazMat endorsement on CDL or must obtain within 60 days of hire
• No preventable accidents, license suspensions, or moving violations in past 2 years
• No alcohol-related convictions in last 10 years
• Able to pass DOT physical and obtain medical certificate
• Ability to push, pull, move and lift a minimum of 75 pounds

Responsibilities

• You will deliver products to customers by making an average of 10-12 stops per day, touching freight, completing paperwork, and providing excellent customer service

• Complete hazardous materials shipping orders papers in accordance with DOT regulations
• Conduct and report pre-trip and post-trip inspections
• Identify need for timely vehicle repairs and/or maintenance
• Build relationships with internal and external customers to meet business goals

• Accurately count and record the quantities and styles of products delivered and picked up

What Makes You Great

• You have a high school diploma or GED, along with proficiency in reading and writing in English
• You will have two (2) years of consecutive driving experience or recent certification from a Truck Driving School, along with a valid Class A or B CDL
• This role requires you to be 21 years or older
• You currently have a hazmat endorsement on your CDL or must obtain one within 60 days of hire
• You are expected to not have any preventable accidents, license suspensions, or moving violations in the past two (2) years
• No alcohol-related convictions within the last ten (10) years
• You must be able to pass a DOT physical and obtain a medical certificate
• You have the ability to push, pull, move, and lift a minimum of 75 pounds is required

Pay range: $24.00 - $26.00 hourly, based on experience
