Airgas, Inc. in Tacoma, WA is seeking a Local Delivery Driver (CDL A or B) to operate service trucks safely, load and unload products, and deliver on schedule to our customers.

The role emphasizes safety, compliance with DOT regulations, and reliable customer service. Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL or B CDL with Hazmat & Airbrake endorsements.
• 1 year of CDL driving experience in the last 5 years or proof of trucking school completion in the last 12 months.
• Maintain driver’s license, medical card & endorsements.
• No more than two traffic convictions or one conviction plus one at-fault accident in 3 years.
• No DUI in the last 7 years; able to work in a drug-free environment.
• Able to regularly lift 75lbs and move >125lbs with equipment.

Responsibilities

• Safety and Vehicle Compliance: uphold safe driving, PPE use, inspections, and DOT compliance.
• Delivery and Logistics: load/unload trucks and ensure timely, accurate deliveries.
• Administrative Tasks: maintain DOT records, pull orders, collect payments.
• General Duties: assist customers with inventory and delivery needs; may require overtime.

Location: Tacoma, WA - Filling industrial

Compensation & Benefits

• Compensation: $28.50-35.25 (Based on Experience)
• Schedule: Monday - Friday (5 a.m.- 4 p.m.)

Key Responsibilities

• Safety and Vehicle Compliance:Maintaining a safe driving record and appropriate licensing, strict adherence to company safety policies, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and actively identifying workplace hazards. This also involves performing required pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and ensuring compliance with all federal, state, local, and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
• Delivery and Logistics:Loading and unloading service trucks, performing timely scheduled and non-route deliveries to meet customer satisfaction, and ensuring all necessary load documents are accurate and available.
• Administrative Tasks:Promptly and accurately maintaining all required company and DOT records, identifying potential cylinder problems, pulling orders from the warehouse, and collecting and submitting all customer payments.
• General Duties:Providing support to internal and external customers regarding inventory and delivery needs, and being available for occasional mandatory overtime, weekends, and holidays for on-call duty.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL or B CDL with HAZMAT & Airbrake endorsements
• Must have 1 year of CDL driving experience in the last 5 years or be able able to provide proof of a certificate of completion from trucking school completed in the last 12 months
• Maintain appropriate driver's license, medical card & endorsements
• No more than two (2) traffic convictions: OR two (2) at-fault accident in the last 3 years; or no more than a combination of one (1) traffic conviction and one (1) at-fault accident in the last 3 years
• No driving while under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance within the last seven (7) years
• Must be able to work in a drug-free environment
• Be able to regularly lift 75lbs and move more than 125lbs with the aid of material handling equipment
