Job summary

ETNA Supply Company is seeking a Local Delivery Driver CDL A based in Traverse City, MI. You will drive to customer sites, unload, and load materials as needed while following DOT/FMCSA rules and maintaining accurate logs.

The role requires a valid CDL A, a clean driving record, and the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions. A high school diploma and safety awareness are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid CDL A license with an acceptable driving record.
• Current DOT Medical Certificate or ability to obtain one.
• Experience in the plumbing or waterworks industry is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Meet or exceed customer expectations by providing a positive customer experience.
• Deliver orders promptly while loading/unloading as needed and staying safe.
• Be familiar with the delivery territory and operate efficiently between locations.
• Sign, date, and complete driver logs with accurate records of stops, hours, and inspections.
• Adhere to DOT/FMCSA regulations and vehicle pre-trip inspections.
• Assist customers in unloading and loading delivered goods and keep loads secure.

The Delivery Driver CDL Aposition involves driving at ruck and helping with loading and unloading materials to meet customer and company needs. Duties include pulling orders, packaging, assembling, staging, and loading orders accurately for customer pick-up or delivery. You'll work outdoors in all four seasons, so being comfortable in various weather conditions is important. Plus, you won't have to work on Sundays!

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Meet or exceed the expectations of our customers by providing a positive customer experience.
• Be familiar with the territory in which deliveries are made and accomplish the work efficiently.
• Make deliveries promptly while maintaining a friendly and helpful relationship with the customer.
• Secure all materials to prevent accidents, damage, and/or loss.
• Use care in the handling of all materials, products, and equipment.
• Sign, date, and completely fill out driver logs with accurate record of stops, operating hours and vehicle inspection.
• Adhere to federal, state, local driving laws and DOT and FMCSA regulations, such as pre-trip inspections and driver logs.
• Assist customers in the unloading and loading of delivered goods.
• Keep and use tarps on loads during poor weather conditions.
• Maintain vehicle fluid levels, air pressures, and vehicle cleanliness inside and out.
• Back up warehouse personnel
• Regular and predictable attendance.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Working knowledge of federal, state, and local driving laws.
• Working knowledge of DOT and FMCSA regulations.
• Ability to drive safely and obey and adhere to applicable laws and regulations.
• Effectively use GPS, read maps, and follow directions.
• Effective use of cell phone and hands-free equipment while driving.
• Effective communication, customer service, and stress management skills.
• Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and priorities and easily adapt to changing situations in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic adding, subtracting, multiplication, and division skills with or without using a calculator.
• Maintain professional image as a representative of the company.

Education, Experience, and Licenses:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in the plumbing or waterworks industry is preferred but not required.
• Valid CDL A license with an acceptable driving record.
• Current DOT Medical Certificate (or the ability to obtain one).
• Ability to pass an operator exam to operate powered industrial equipment.
