Job summary

Linde Gas & Equipment Inc. is hiring a delivery driver in Pittsburg, CA who will make 10–12 stops per day and provide excellent customer service.

You will handle hazardous materials paperwork, perform pre- and post-trip inspections, and ensure loads are counted and recorded accurately. Proactive maintenance identification and strong safety practices are required to support our industrial gases business.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two years driving experience or recent Truck Driving School certification.
• Must be 21 years or older.
• Hazmat endorsement required within 60 days of hire.
• No major accidents or violations in two years.
• Able to pass DOT physical and obtain medical certificate.
• Able to lift and move 75 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Deliver products to customers with 10–12 stops per day while maintaining safety.
• Count and record quantities of delivered and picked up items.
• Process hazardous materials shipping paperwork per DOT regulations.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
• Identify maintenance needs and schedule repairs.
• Build relationships with customers and internal teams to meet goals.
• Learn and apply Linde's business practices to help growth.

What you will enjoy doing*

• You will deliver products to customers by making an average of 10-12 stops per day, while touching freight, completing paperwork, and providing excellent customer service
• Accurately count and record the quantities and styles of products delivered and picked up
• You are expected to complete hazardous material shipping orders papers in accordance with DOT regulations
• Conduct and report pre-trip and post-trip inspections
• Identify need for timely vehicle repairs and/or maintenance
• You will build both relationships and partnerships with internal and external customers to meet goals and objectives of the business and customer needs
• You will continuously build your knowledge on how Linde's business operates and succeeds to help organization to continue growing

What makes you great

• You have a high school diploma or GED, along with proficiency in reading and writing in English
• You will have two (2) years of consecutive driving experience or recent certification from a Truck Driving School, along with a valid Class A
• This role requires you to be 21 years or older
• You currently have a hazmat endorsement on your CDL or must obtain one within 60 days of hire
• You are expected to not have any preventable accidents, license suspensions, or moving violations in the past two (2) years
• No alcohol-related convictions within the last ten (10) years
• You must be able to pass a DOT physical and obtain a medical certificate
• You have the ability to push, pull, move, and lift a minimum of 75 pounds is required
