Job summary

Linde Gas & Equipment in Bakersfield, CA, is hiring a Local Delivery Driver (CDL A) to deliver products, conduct vehicle inspections, and ensure compliance with DOT regulations. Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, valid CDL A or B, and at least 2 years of driving experience. The ideal driver will possess strong customer service skills, be able to lift heavy loads, and maintain safety standards while on the road.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; proficiency in reading and writing in English.
• 2 years of consecutive driving experience or recent certification from a Truck Driving School.
• Age 21 years or older; Hazmat endorsement on CDL or must obtain within 60 days of hire.
• No preventable accidents, license suspensions, or moving violations in past 2 years.
• Must pass DOT physical and obtain medical certificate.
• Ability to push, pull, move, and lift a minimum of 75 pounds.

What you will enjoy doing*

• Deliver products to customers: average 10-12 stops per day, touching freight, completing paperwork, and providing excellent customer service.
• Accurately count and record quantities and styles of products delivered and picked up.
• Complete hazardous material shipping orders papers in accordance with DOT regulations.
• Conduct and report pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections.
• Identify need for timely vehicle repairs and/or maintenance.
• Build relationships and partnerships with internal and external customers to meet business and customer goals.
• Continuously build knowledge on Linde’s business operations and other duties as assigned.
