Dyersburg, TN - Retail shop

How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?

As the "face of Airgas," the Local Delivery Driver is responsible for safely and efficiently delivering compressed gas cylinders to local and regional business customers from an Airgas branch or plant location using a company-provided straight or box truck. The driver loads, unloads, delivers, and returns compressed gas cylinders while frequently interacting with customers.

Our fleet is modern and efficient, with most vehicles under 6 years old, equipped with driver-friendly technology such as On Board Computers, collision avoidance, camera systems, and GPS navigation.

Position Title: LOCAL DELIVERY DRIVER

Location: Dyersburg, TN

Schedule: Monday - Friday, local deliveries. Home Daily!

Vehicle: Straight Truck - Class A or B CDL with Hazmat Endorsement required.

In particular, you will:

• Drive a truck over established routes to deliver and sell products, including gasses and hard goods.
• Perform non-route deliveries to ensure customer needs are met.
• Write customer orders and instructions.
• Record sales or delivery information daily.
• Listen to and resolve service complaints.
• Distribute sales promotion materials.
• Collect or pick up empty containers or rejected merchandise; load truck.
• Obtain customer signatures for pickups or deliveries.
• Perform pre and post-trip vehicle inspections, documenting deficiencies and ensuring safety items are functional.
• Comply with company policies and DOT requirements.
• Assist inside the retail branch with customer service at the dock, front counter, and over the phone.
• Attend safety meetings as scheduled.
• Assist with other drivers' duties as needed.

Are you a MATCH?

• At least one year of Class A or B CDL driving experience within the last 5 years or graduated from an accredited driving school.
• Class A or B CDL with Hazmat endorsement (can be obtained after offer).
• Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
• Current Medical Examiner's Card.
• Ability to read and understand safety data sheets.
• Ability to lift 25-75 lbs routinely, and occasionally over 125 lbs with equipment.
• Ability to drive hazardous cargo for up to 8 hours; frequent bending required.
• Ability to work independently and under pressure to meet deadlines.
• Willingness to work occasional overtime if necessary.
