MCG Tran in Syracuse, NY seeks a yard driver to move trailers, spot 40–50 units daily, and perform safety checks on inbound deliveries. You will inspect trailers before backing for loading and assist with minor repairs as needed.

Duties include transporting trailers to the maintenance shop, helping load or restack products when required, with a Monday–Friday schedule, weekends off, starting around 10am–noon, and a salary of $70,000 per year.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 months tractor-trailer experience required.
• Ability to safely move and spot trailers in yard environments.
• Perform safety inspections of trailers prior to backing.
• Capable of basic repairs (lights, mud flaps) when noted in DVIR.
• Reliable, punctual with a Monday–Friday schedule.

Responsabilités

• Move trailers in and out of dock as part of yard duties.
• Spot 40–50 trailers per day to positions and docks.
• Conduct yard checks for inbound deliveries several times daily.
• Perform safety inspections before backing trailers for loading.

Basic yard duties - moving trailers in and out of dock

Driver will be responsible for spotting upwards of 40-50 trailers per day

Responsible for performing yard checks multiple times a day for inbound deliveries

Required to perform safety inspections on all trailers prior to backing them in for loading

Responsible for making minor repairs (lights, mud flaps, etc.) when identified on written safety report (DVIR log)

Transporting trailers/trucks to & from the maintenance shop for repairs (shop is local)

At times they may be required to help load, stack, or restack a trailer of product if the product has shifted

Monday to Friday work week

Weekends off

Home Daily

Start time between 10am to Noon
