WCS Healthcare is currently seeking a Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) for contract assignments at a prestigious hospital in Chester, PA. We offer flexible contract durations, including 13-week, 26-week, and long-term temporary assignments. This role provides an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic healthcare environment.


Job Function:

  • Apply external fetal monitors and accurately interpret fetal heart rate (FHR) tracings and uterine activity.
  • Implement appropriate interventions based on FHR patterns and maternal status during labor.

  • Identify emergency situations, considering patient age, and promptly notify the healthcare provider.

  • Administer medications in accordance with the "five rights" of medication safety and infection control guidelines, or as per provider's orders.

  • Assess patients for pain during the initial evaluation and reassess according to established guidelines.

  • Assist physicians or midwives during deliveries, ensuring all necessary support is provided.


Job Requirements:

  • Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing or hold a BSN.
  • Current State RN license (or willingness to obtain).
  • 1–2 years of acute care experience in this specialty.
  • BLS certification (American Heart Association).
  • ACLS certification (American Heart Association).
  • NRP certification (American Heart Association).
  • Fetal Monitoring Certificate (preferred).
