Overview

Permanent opportunities for RNs at Fresenius Medical Care (US Renal Care/Fresenius Kidney Care). Roles involve dialysis patient care, supervision of Patient Care Technicians, and participation in interdisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality renal care to patients with kidney disease.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care during hemodialysis treatments, including pre-, intra-, and post-treatment assessments and documentation.
• Monitor patient status, document laboratory and medication administration per physician orders, and participate in quality improvement activities.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to develop and implement patient care plans; support staffing requirements under supervision of the Administrator or Charge Nurse and ensure adherence to state regulations.
• Adhere to company policies, procedures, and applicable state and federal regulations; participate in required staff meetings and continuing education.
• Supervise and/or coordinate Patient Care Technicians and other direct care staff as assigned; provide guidance, and participate in hiring, disciplinary actions, and performance evaluations as appropriate.
• Administer medications as prescribed or per approved protocols; respond to emergencies; serve as a resource for the health care team; and ensure proper laboratory handling and specimen collection.
• Educate patients and families about dialysis treatment, transplant options, and disease management; document outcomes and update nursing plans of care in collaboration with the team.
• Participate in on-call rotations, training, and travel to different facilities as required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (RN); current state licensure; CPR/BLS certification.
• Minimum of 9 months nursing experience with an additional 3 months in dialysis (for some roles); supervisory/management experience preferred for Charge RN roles.
• Experience or training in hemodialysis and ability to complete CAP requirements to advance.
• Good verbal and written communication skills; ability to work in a fast-paced, team-based environment; willingness to travel between facilities as needed.
