Job summary

Fort Dodge Asphalt Company is seeking a Construction Laborer (Local) in Fort Dodge, IA. The role involves road crew work, site maintenance, and equipment operation with on-the-job training and potential advancement to equipment operator.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Reliable transportation.
• Valid driver's license preferred.
• Physically fit to perform the job functions including standing, squatting, bending, lifting and walking for long durations.
• Previous construction or physical job experience preferred.
• Able to communicate effectively and work in stressful situations.
• Ability to listen and take direction from others.
• Willingness to be a team player and help train less experienced employees.

Responsibilities

• Work on a road crew, or at an asphalt plant or maintenance shop.
• Perform job layout, shoveling, raking, sweeping.
• Operate small equipment such as blowers, saws, compactors, and jack hammers.
• On-the-job training to become a productive crew member with advancement opportunities.
