Job summary

Emery Sapp & Sons in Missouri is seeking an experienced Concrete Paver Operator to join our heavy civil team. You will safely operate paving equipment on roadway projects, reading plans and ensuring grade and thickness meet standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience operating concrete paving equipment on large projects.
• Experience with slipform pavers preferred.
• Strong understanding of grades, elevations, and paving tolerances.
• Ability to troubleshoot equipment and perform basic maintenance.
• Knowledge of construction safety practices and OSHA standards.
• Valid driver’s license; CDL is a plus.
• GPS machine control experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Monitor paving operations for grade, alignment, thickness, and overall quality of finished surfaces.
• Perform daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance.
• Coordinate paving activities with crew to meet production goals.
• Read and follow project plans, grade stakes, and layout specifications.
• Ensure all work complies with safety policies and OSHA regulations.
• Identify equipment, material, or production issues and communicate solutions.
• Assist with mobilization, setup, and cleanup of paving operations.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Train and mentor less experienced operators and crew members.
• Support other construction operations as needed.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
