Job summary

Emery Sapp & Sons, Inc. seeks an experienced Concrete Paver Operator to join our heavy civil team in Central Missouri. You will safely and efficiently operate concrete paving equipment on roadway and infrastructure projects, working closely with supervisors and crew to meet quality standards.

This role requires at least 3 years of hands-on paving experience, knowledge of grades and tolerances, and strong safety practices. CDL and GPS experience are a plus, and you will mentor newer operators.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience operating concrete paving equipment on roadway, highway, airport, or large-scale concrete projects.
• Experience operating slipform concrete pavers preferred.
• Strong understanding of concrete paving methods, grades, elevations, and paving tolerances.
• Ability to troubleshoot equipment and perform basic maintenance tasks.
• Knowledge of construction safety practices and procedures.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate professionally with coworkers and supervisors.
• Valid driver's license required; CDL is a plus.
• GPS machine control experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Monitor paving operations to ensure proper grade, alignment, thickness, and overall quality of finished concrete surfaces.
• Perform daily equipment inspections and complete basic preventative maintenance and minor repairs.
• Work closely with crew members and supervisors to coordinate paving activities and maintain production goals.
• Read and follow project plans, grade stakes, and layout specifications.
• Ensure all work is performed safely and in compliance with company policies and OSHA regulations.
• Identify equipment, material, or production issues and communicate solutions proactively.
• Assist with mobilization, setup, and cleanup of paving operations.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Train and mentor less experienced operators and crew members.
• Support other construction operations as needed.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
