Job summary

Dayton Freight Lines is hiring Class B CDL drivers in the McKees Rocks area. The role offers full-time daytime work with a starting pay at $28.00 per hour and overtime after 40 hours, plus a comprehensive benefits package.

The position emphasizes safety, customer interaction, and class A advancement opportunities within a stable, growing company. Responsibilities include driving, loading/unloading freight, inspections, paperwork, and adherence to Dayton Freight's procedures.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 22 years old.
• 18+ months of commercial driving experience.
• Valid Class B CDL with HazMat and Tank Endorsement.
• Valid DOT Physical/Medical Card.
• No DUI or reckless operation convictions in the past 3 years.
• Less than 2 moving violations in the past 3 years.
• Fluent in English.
• Legally eligible to work in the United States.
• Able to pass a drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Transport, load and unload freight between service centers and customers.
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections on the tractor and trailer.
• Document all freight control processes.
• Read maps, road signs, shipping papers, hazmat markings and labeling identifications.
• Affix correct placards to tractor/trailer when necessary.
• Maintain cleanliness of the company vehicle.
• Assist customers in preparation of shipping papers.
• Interact with external/internal customers.
• Safely operate a forklift to unload/load when indicated.
• Participate in Dayton Freight training and improvement programs.
• Be available for irregular work schedules and shifts.
• Adhere to Driver/Dockworker Manual procedures.
