Job summary

SA Recycling is seeking experienced Class A truck drivers for local routes around the St. Louis area. You will transport metals from suppliers to processing facilities, perform pre- and post-trip inspections, and secure cargo for transit.

Candidates should have a valid CDL, 3+ years of experience, and the ability to operate manual transmissions. Drivers are home each night and will work in a fast-paced yard environment, coordinating with dispatch and customers to meet loading requirements.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Valid Class A CDL; heavy haul/roll-off experience is a plus.
• 3+ years of commercial driving experience preferred.
• Must pass DOT physical and FMCSR background check.
• FMCSA Clearinghouse registration required.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections of tractors and trailers per DOT.
• Transport materials to SA Recycling facilities as dispatched.
• Secure cargo with chains, straps, binders, or tarps.
• Communicate safety or equipment issues to management.
• Load and unload trucks hauling scrap metal as directed.
• Maintain logs of working hours and vehicle service status.
• Work with customers to fulfill loading needs and resolve issues.
