Job summary

Staffmark Group in Eldridge, IA, is hiring a Class A Local Flatbed Driver. The role involves driving a flatbed truck to deliver steel and related materials, with a home-daily schedule and a start window around 4:00–5:00 AM. You will tarp in winter months and ensure DOT compliance and customer service at delivery points.

Required is a valid Class A CDL, recent flatbed experience, load Securement skills, and a clean MVR. Overtime is available after 40 hours.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of CDL driving experience within the last 3 years.
• At least 9 months of recent tractor-trailer flatbed experience within the last 3 years.
• Experience securing loads using chains and straps.
• Strong knowledge of DOT regulations and safe driving practices.
• Ability to maintain a clear MVR and meet all DOT compliance requirements.
• No DUI, reckless driving, or serious driving violations within the past 5 years.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a Class A flatbed truck to deliver steel, plate, structural steel, and related materials.
• Perform local deliveries while maintaining on-time service and professionalism.
• Secure freight using chains and straps in accordance with DOT regulations.
• Tarp loads from October through March and during other weather-related conditions as needed.
• Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
• Maintain accurate delivery and transportation documentation.
• Follow all company safety policies and DOT regulations.
• Provide excellent customer service at delivery locations.
