Triple-S Steel Holdings, Inc. is seeking a LOCAL CDL driver based in Houston, TX. You will return home daily, work daytime hours, and have weekly pay with overtime available. This role emphasizes safety and reliable delivery of flatbed freight.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years Class A experience.
• No major moving violations in the last 2 years.
• Valid Class A CDL with ability to drive both standard and automatic.
• 1 year flatbed experience (required).
• Experience pulling 53’ flats and 3 axle conventional sleeper trucks; oversized load experience preferred.
• Knowledge of securing freight with chains, binders, and straps.

Responsibilities

• Read bills of lading to determine assignment details.
• Inspect loads to ensure cargo is secure and notify if rebuilding needed for safety.
• Inventory and inspect goods to determine quantities and conditions.
• Secure cargo for transport using chains, binders, or tarps.
• Follow safety procedures for transporting oversized loads.
• Maneuver trucks into loading/unloading positions with signals from crew.
• Operate equipment (GPS, CB radios, etc.) to exchange information with bases.
• Check load-related documentation for completeness and accuracy.
• Couple/uncouple trailers and manage air/electrical lines.
• Check trailers for damage post-unload and inspect safety equipment.
• Report defects, accidents, traffic violations, or vehicle damage.
• Maintain logs of working hours and vehicle service status.
• Perform basic vehicle maintenance (oil, fuel, fluids).
• Obtain receipts/signatures and collect payment when required.
