Job summary

Oak Harbor Freight Lines, Inc. is seeking a CDL/Class A Truck Driver for local Pick-up & Delivery duties. This role involves moving freight safely, recording shipment details, and maintaining accurate delivery paperwork across the Oak Harbor network.

Candidates must have a Class A CDL, at least one year of verifiable driving experience, a valid DOT medical card, and a clean driving record. The position offers stability, home nightly schedules, PTO, and competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• At least 21 years old.
• Class A CDL.
• At least one year of verifiable commercial driving experience with similar equipment.
• Valid DOT Medical Certification.
• Clean driving record (no DUI or positive drug/alcohol screen in the last 3 years).
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers, co-workers, and dispatch.
• Basic English proficiency in reading, writing and verbal communication.
• Hazmat, Tanker, and Doubles/Triples endorsements within 45 days of hiring (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment and move freight in a safe and efficient manner using forklift, pallet jack, hand truck, etc.
• Record exceptions in count or condition of shipments to minimize cargo claims.
• Deliver to multiple customers while providing high levels of customer service within the Oak Harbor network.
• Maintain required information throughout the use of electronic devices.
• Prepare and verify delivery paperwork: receipts, bills of lading, trailer manifests, and hazardous material shipments where applicable.
• Make decisions to maximize efficiency while meeting customer expectations.
• Travel to nearby terminals as needed and work different shifts to fit business levels.
