Job summary

Crane Cartage LLC in New Jersey is seeking a CDL A truck driver to transport and deliver freight, with responsibilities including pre/post-trip inspections, log maintenance, and paperwork accuracy.

The role requires at least one year of driving experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, and a valid CDL with medical card. Local/short- to long-distance trips may be involved, with attention to DOT rules and safety standards.

Qualifications

• One year or greater driving experience in the type of equipment to be operated.
• High School diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.
• No prior 3-year history of failed or refused drug/alcohol tests.
• Must not be under FMCSA drug/alcohol follow-up testing requirements related to any SAP process.
• Must possess a valid Class A CDL with current medical card.

Responsibilities

• Drive commercial motor vehicle (truck) to transport and deliver freight.
• Read and interpret road signs, maps, shipping documents, and work instructions.
• Maintain contact with dispatch to receive or be dispatched to new locations.
• Maintain electronic driver logs compliant with state and federal regulations.
• Perform pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections and maintain records.
• Handle shipping paperwork and obtain client signature with shipper load and count status.
• Assist in loading/unloading and manage documentation related to deliveries.
• Meet DOT medical card requirements and stay compliant with safety rules.
• Remain compliant with government laws and regulations; perform other duties as assigned.
