Job summary

Saia LTL Freight is seeking a skilled truck driver to deliver freight between terminals and customer facilities. This role involves logistics management, driving tractor trailers, and ensuring timely and safe deliveries.

The ideal candidate must have a valid Class A driver’s license, at least one year of driving experience, and no significant traffic violations. Comprehensive health benefits and a competitive pay rate of $32.20 - $36.85 per hour based on experience are offered.

Position Summary: Drives freight between company terminals and customer facilities or work sites within a defined geographic area. Ensures freight is delivered in a claims‑free and cost‑efficient manner.

Major Tasks and Responsibilities

• Drives tractor trailers to deliver and pick up customer freight.
• Sorts, handles, loads, and unloads freight at various company and customer locations.
• Plans routes and schedules to ensure timely deliveries and pickups.
• Follows established pre‑trip, post‑trip, freight handling, and billing procedures.
• Conducts inspections by following established safety and quality control procedures.
• Retains and maintains records, forms, and load‑related paperwork.
• Serves as the first point‑of‑contact for delivery‑related issues.

Pay Rate

$32.20 - $36.85 per hour, based on experience.

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age and hold a valid Class A driver’s license with hazmat, tankers and twin trailer endorsements (X or H, N and T)
• Must have a minimum of 1 year of verifiable tractor–trailer driving experience
• Must be able to read, write and speak in English
• No DUI, DWI, or license suspension for moving violations in any vehicle within three (3) years of the date of application
• No chargeable accidents or serious traffic violations within a six (6) month period immediately preceding the date of application

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience operating a forklift and pallet jack
• Ability to lift and move objects of various shapes, sizes, and weights
• Ability to sit for extended periods of time, bend, twist, squat, climb in and out of truck
