LOCAL CERTIFIED NURSING ASSISTANT, CNA AM SHIFT POSITION

Position Description: A nursing assistant responsible for providing routine nursing care in accordance with established policies and procedures, directed by the Charge Nurse, RN Supervisor, Director of Nurses, or Administrator. The goal is to maintain the highest quality of resident care at all times.

Qualifications:

• Licensed as a certified nursing assistant.
• At least 6 months of experience as a CNA or clinical experience during a CNA training program.
• Sincere desire to serve the ill, aged, and infirm.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.
• Ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, families, visitors, and the public.
• Willingness to work harmoniously with others.
• Patience, tact, cheerful disposition, enthusiasm, and ability to handle residents at their current maturity level.
• Good health and emotional stability.
• Ability to work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and sometimes hostile individuals.

General Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform assigned duties following facility policies, nursing care procedures, and safety rules.
• Make resident rounds at shift start and every two hours to ensure quality care.
• Verify resident identity before providing care or serving food.
• Report missing ID bands immediately.
• Make beds, clean bedside and overbed tables.
• Ensure water pitchers are clean, filled, and accessible to residents.
• Perform other duties as directed by supervisors.
