Job summary

Salt City Trucking is seeking a CDL-A Local Intermodal Driver for a home-daily schedule on a Chicago-bound intermodal route. Earn about $87,000 per year with a $10,000 bonus plus earnings from live load/unload, drop & hook, and other pay elements.

Night driving and night shift start align with dispatch at the Indianapolis terminal. You will work within a 100-mile radius of Indianapolis, report daily, and start/end at the Indianapolis terminal.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid Class A CDL with at least 3 months of verifiable experience.
• Clean driving record and a valid DOT Medical Card.
• Hazmat endorsement required within 60 days and costs reimbursed after.

Responsibilities

• Run to Chicago and back daily on a local intermodal route.
• Local work within a 100-mile radius of Indianapolis as needed.
• Report to the Indianapolis terminal daily for dispatch and truck assignment.
• Start and end each shift at the Indianapolis terminal.
• No equipment take-home, no smoking in trucks, no passengers.

CDL-A Local Intermodal Driver – Good Pay + Bonus | Home Daily

Earn $87,000 per year on a local intermodal route with home-daily schedules, consistent night driving, and a $10,000 bonus. Run to Chicago and back each day while handling mostly drop-and-hook freight.

Pay Details

$87,000 Average Annual Pay

• Average Weekly Pay: $1,700
• $10,000 bonus
• $53 for customer live load/unload
• $33 for customer drop & hook
• $15 for out-of-route empty moves or crosstown drops
• $15/hour rail delay pay after 1 hour
• $20/hour detention pay after 1.5 hours
• $20/hour training pay as needed
• Approximately 2,000 miles/week

• 18 paid days initially: 12 PTO + 6 holidays
• 1-5 years: 22 paid days
