Job summary

Alpha Space Control is seeking a dedicated CDL Driver for local routes in the Chambersburg area. You will operate heavy trucks and trailers, perform inspections, and ensure safe transport of materials to job sites while coordinating with the crew.

The role requires 2+ years of commercial driving, knowledge of DOT rules, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team, including nights or weekends as project schedules demand.

Qualifications

• Valid CDL (Class A or B) required; Class A preferred.
• At least 2 years of commercial driving experience with a clean driving record.
• Knowledge of federal motor carrier safety regulations (DOT).
• Experience operating heavy vehicles and basic vehicle maintenance.
• Physical ability to lift up to 75 lbs. and work in extreme weather.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy trucks with or without trailers to transport materials to job sites.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections for roadworthiness.
• Maintain logs of hours, mileage, and cargo per regulations.
• Load, unload, and secure materials on site.
• Follow routes and safety regulations as per schedule.
• Support crew with general labor tasks and traffic control as needed.
• Communicate with foremen to coordinate deliveries and site needs.
• Perform routine vehicle maintenance and minor repairs.
• Work flexible hours, including nights and weekends when required.
• Ensure safety procedures are followed at all times.
