Job summary

Carris Reels Group in Enfield, CT is seeking a dependable Local CDL-A Driver for local deliveries within Connecticut and nearby states. This role requires adherence to DOT regulations and safe driving practices, with no overnight travel.

You will perform pre/post-trip inspections, maintain delivery logs, interact with customers professionally, and ensure on-time deliveries while following HOS rules.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid Connecticut Class A driver’s license.
• Clean MVR as required by DOT and CT DMV standards.
• Minimum of 3 years of driving experience with commercial or delivery vehicles preferred.
• Must pass a DOT physical and be registered in the FMCSA Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse.
• Knowledge of CT traffic and commercial driving laws.
• Strong time management and communication skills.
• Familiarity with GPS and ELDs if applicable.
• Manual transmission experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate a commercial vehicle safely and efficiently for local deliveries.
• Assist unloading at most locations.
• Follow assigned daily delivery routes and maintain accurate delivery schedules.
• Perform daily pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections per DOT and company standards.
• Maintain a clean driving record and comply with CT DOT regulations.
• Accurately complete delivery logs and required DOT documentation.
• Report mechanical problems or safety concerns to the supervisor.
• Interact with customers in a courteous and professional manner.
• Maintain compliance with hours-of-service (HOS); no overnight runs required.
