Job summary

48forty Solutions is seeking a CDL-A Driver in Hammond, LA. You’ll handle local truckload deliveries, mostly drop and hook, with routes typically within 500 miles and 3–5 per shift. Expect 10–12 hour shifts driving a 53’ dry van, home daily with weekends off.

• 1 year CDL-A driving experience within past 3 years
• Must be at least 23 years of age or older
• Must possess a valid CDL-A license

• No record of disqualification to drive
• Successful completion of a DOT road test
• PSP report scores of 10 or below in the past 3 years
• No more than 2 moving violations in past 3 years
• Experience in logistics/warehouse/OTR preferred
• English reading/writing/speaking proficiency required

Overview

As a CDL Driver, you’ll get the opportunity for competitive pay, for weekends off, to be home daily, and have no touch freight!

Hourly Pay:

$21.00/hr

Shift(s):

Monday - Friday: 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM

What You'll Do

• Handle all local truckload deliveries; primarily drop and hook
• Deliver and pick up trailers within (500 of miles) making about (3-5) routes per shift
• Drive an automatic, 53’ truck/dry van for (10-12 of hours) shifts

What You'll Need

• 1-year CDL-A driving experience within past 3 years
• Must be at least 23 years of age or older
• Must Possess a valid license to operate a commercial motor vehicle
• Must pass a DOT Physical from a nationally registered DOT approved physician
• No record of being disqualified to drive
• Successful completion of a DOT road test
• PSP report scores of 10 or below in the past 3 years – a higher score will be reviewed
• No more than 2 moving violations in the past 3 years
• Candidates with experience in logistics, warehouse, OTR, Over-the-Road, CDL Class A License, Truck and Trailer, preferred
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English proficiently

What It's Like

• Ability to work in extreme conditions to include, but not limited to, elements, heat, cold, and air particulate
• Must be able to bend, stoop, walk, turn, pivot, and sit in a vehicle cab for entire shifts of varying lengths in time
• The noise level in the work environment depends on location
• Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required (eye protection, ear protection is mandatory at several locations, safety shoes)
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and color vision
