Job description

We are looking for a safety-conscious Residential Driver to join the team at our Hauling location, Murrey's Disposal, in Fife, WA. Previous waste experience would be a huge plus!

PAY AND SCHEDULE:

• Competitive wages starting at $35.00 and $35.50/hr
• Typical schedule is Monday-Friday, with occasional Saturday shifts, 45-hour work week.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Safely operate a garbage truck on assigned routes to collect solid waste. Waste experience is preferred but not required.
• Read route sheets and service each customer as indicated or as assigned by the dispatcher.
• Perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance, including checking fluids, safety equipment, and tires.
• Perform physically demanding tasks, such as loading and unloading, often without helpers.
• Operate hydraulic controls to lift/load refuse and dispose of trash at designated facilities.
• Interact courteously with customers and perform other related duties as assigned.
• Work schedule: Monday through Friday, with occasional Saturday, 45 hours/week.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:

• Requires extensive physical activity, including heavy lifting over 50 pounds, pushing, or pulling objects.
• Exposure to physical risks such as moving mechanical parts, requiring safety precautions.
• Exposure to outside weather, including wet/humid conditions, fumes, and vibration. Noise level is moderate.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Valid Class A or B CDL with air brake endorsement.
• Ability to read, write, understand, and communicate in English. High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• At least 2 years of relevant experience.
• Basic knowledge of truck components for pre- and post-trip inspections.
