We are hiring Local CDL Class A Drivers in Shelbyville, IN. Established in 1978, United Scrap Metal has grown from a small operation to one of the largest full-service recyclers in the country. We are committed to providing recycling solutions with integrity and making a positive impact on our community.

Job Overview

The driver's main role is to pick up, transport, and deliver freight safely and efficiently. You will report to the Transportation Manager and work under supervision from dispatchers.

Pay and Benefits

• $24 - $27 per hour plus overtime after 40 hours
• Health, Dental, and Life Insurance
• Paid vacations and time off
• Two yearly bonuses and a monthly bonus plan
• Work hours are approximately 50-55 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with weekends off

Requirements

• At least 2 years of industry experience preferred, especially in similar roles or environments
• Valid Class A driver’s license
• Experience in recycling industry and ability to identify metal materials; experience with van, flatbed, gondola, and roll-off trucks is a plus
• Must pass pre-employment physical, background, credit checks, and meet all DOT standards, including driving record checks
• Stable job history, dependable attendance, and trustworthy references are desirable
