Job summary

Southern States Cooperative is seeking a driver to operate SSC commercial motor vehicles, transporting bulk loads including fertilizer and farm supplies across designated routes. The role includes loading/unloading, documenting shipments, and maintaining equipment and safety standards.

Responsibilities also cover pre/post-trip inspections, logs, and customer interactions during deliveries, with additional duties in warehouse operations as needed.

Qualifications

• Requires High School Diploma or GED.
• Six months of Class B commercial driving experience required.
• Knowledge of agricultural products preferred.
• Licensing requirements vary by location; CDL Class B required.

Responsibilities

• Drive SSC vehicles to transport bulk loads and load/unload at destinations.
• Verify load documentation, operate scales, and manage loading/unloading procedures.
• Perform pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections and maintain logs and documentation.
• Represent SSC professionally with customers and assist with payments and future deliveries.
• Perform routine maintenance and coordinate repairs to keep vehicles/equipment in good condition.
