Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. seeks a Class A CDL Shuttle Driver in Ladson, SC for a local, home-daily route with weekly pay and comprehensive benefits. Start time is 3:00 PM and typical schedule is Monday through Friday, with some Saturdays possible.

Local home-daily runs use Day Cab and Yard Truck tractors with Dry Van 53’ trailers. Ryder offers paid training, medical/dental/vision after 30 days, PTO from day one (up to 80 hours first year), uniforms and boot allowance, and a 401(k) with company match.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 21.
• Pass a Ryder drug test.
• Pass Ryder background and motor vehicle check (last 3 years).
• Pass a DOT physical.
• Pass a Ryder road test.
• Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements.
• Class A verifiable experience in tractor trailer or comparable vehicle.
• 9 months experience in past 3 years OR 2 years in past 5 years OR 5 years in past 10 years.
• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions.
• Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with applicable federal/state laws and regulations.
• Detect and minimize safety hazards; maintain logs and records.
• Load/unload freight or assist in loading/unloading as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
