Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a Driver – CDL (A) to safely operate heavy commercial trucks for prompt delivery and removal of large containers. The role emphasizes safety, regulatory compliance, and daily vehicle condition reporting to ensure reliable service to customers in the Amarillo area.

The position requires a Class A CDL with air brakes endorsement, prior driving experience, and a mechanical aptitude for minor repairs.

Qualifications

• Class A Commercial Driver’s license with air brakes endorsement.
• Two years of prior experience driving commercial trucks preferred.
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude to perform minor repairs to containers.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre- and post-operation inspections of the vehicle.
• Safely operate the truck on designated routes and serve customers on the route sheet.
• Operate controls to lift, load refuse, and dispose of material at the facility.
• Interact courteously with customers, dispatchers, and others to ensure timely service.
• Perform minor container repairs on site or in the yard.
• Identify unsatisfactory containers and tag per procedures.
• Monitor waste for unacceptable materials.
• Maintain vehicle readiness and clean waste from container edges.
• Complete required reports and productivity sheets as required.
