Local CDL A or CDL B Driver & Metal Fabricator

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities for a Driver

The primary duties of the Driver/Metal Fabricator, known as a Logistics Specialist II (with or without a Crane Operator), include delivering building materials to customer sites or job sites and fabricating sheet metal roof panels onsite. Drivers operate within a maximum of 200 miles of their home branch, with deliveries starting and ending at the branch, and may involve out-of-town overnight stays for large projects requiring multi-day fabrication.

• Home most nights, with possible one trip per month
• Safety Bonus
• Safely operate a commercial vehicle in compliance with DOT regulations
• Lead job site safety by operating equipment according to laws at all times
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections
• Verify loaded inventory against purchase orders, sign delivery tickets, confirm addresses, and obtain routing info before leaving the branch
• Inspect job site for existing damage and document surroundings (landscaping, driveways, power lines, etc.)
• Capture pictures of all delivered building products per company policy

Requirements

• Valid Class A or B CDL
• Ability to load/unload building products weighing up to 100 lbs., with forklift or Moffett experience a plus
• Safe driving record with no recent hit & run, DWI, or DUI convictions; severe violations or multiple accidents in the last year reviewed case-by-case
• Prior commercial driving experience and knowledge of DOT & OSHA safety regulations are advantageous
• Experience in distribution is a plus
• Ability to read, write, understand, and communicate in English
• Minimum age of 18; crossing state lines or transporting hazardous materials requires 21+
• Pass a drug test, possess current DOT medical certificate, and have no positive drug tests in the past 12 months
• Authorized to work in the U.S., pass E-Verify

Metal Fabricator Responsibilities

• Operate press brake machines for bending and shaping metal
• Fabricate structures per specifications and blueprints
• Safely rig materials for lifting and moving
• Use power tools for assembly and finishing
• Perform quality checks on finished work
• Maintain a clean, safe workspace
• Work collaboratively to meet production goals
• Willingness to learn onsite fabrication machine operations
• General mechanical knowledge required

Experience

• Proven fabrication experience in manufacturing
• Strong mechanical skills, ability to interpret technical drawings
• Basic math skills for measurements and calculations
• Experience with sheet metal and welding techniques preferred
