Local CDL A or CDL B Driver

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

The primary duty of the Driver, also called a Logistics Specialist II (with or without a Crane Operator), is to deliver building materials to customers or job sites. Drivers operate within a maximum 200-mile radius of their home branch, with deliveries starting and ending at the branch (no overnight stays required).

• Home every night
• Receive a Safety Bonus
• Safely operate a commercial vehicle in compliance with all DOT regulations
• Lead job site safety by operating equipment according to local, state, and federal laws
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections
• Verify loaded inventory against purchase orders, sign delivery tickets, and confirm addresses and routing information prior to leaving the branch
• Inspect the job site for existing damages and document any issues, including the location of power lines, sprinklers, septic tanks, mailboxes, fences, etc.
• Take pictures of all delivered building products in accordance with company policy

Requirements

• Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
• Ability to load and unload building products weighing up to 100 lbs. each, off a straight bed truck; forklift or Moffett experience is a plus
• Safe driving record with no hit & runs, DWI, or DUI convictions in the past three years; recent accidents or violations will be reviewed
• Prior commercial driving experience and knowledge of DOT & OSHA safety regulations are advantageous
• Experience in distribution is a plus
• Ability to read, write, understand, and communicate in English
• Minimum age of 18; 21 if crossing state lines or transporting hazardous materials (rarely applicable)
• Pass a drug test and hold a current DOT medical certificate; no positive drug tests in the last 12 months
• Authorized to work in the U.S. and pass an E-Verify check
