Local CDL A or CDL B Driver

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

The primary duty of the Driver, also known as a Logistics Specialist II (with or without a Crane Operator), is to deliver building materials to customers or job sites. Deliveries are within a 200-mile radius of the home branch, with all trips originating and ending at the branch (no overnight stays).

• Home every night
• Receive a Safety Bonus
• Safely operate a commercial vehicle in compliance with all DOT regulations
• Lead job site safety by operating equipment according to local, state, and federal laws
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections
• Validate inventory loaded on the truck, compare with purchase orders, sign delivery tickets, and confirm addresses and routing information before leaving the branch
• Conduct a job site inspection, documenting existing damages and the location of utilities and other features
• Capture photographs of all delivered building products as per company policy

Requirements

• Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
• Ability to load and unload building products weighing up to 100 lbs. each; forklift or Moffett experience is a plus
• Safe driving record with no recent hit & runs, DWI, or DUI convictions within the last three years; recent accidents or violations will be reviewed
• Prior commercial driving experience and knowledge of DOT & OSHA safety regulations are advantageous
• Experience in distribution is a plus
• Ability to communicate effectively in English (reading, writing, understanding)
• Minimum age of 18; if crossing state lines or transporting hazardous materials, minimum age is 21
• Pass a drug test and possess a current DOT medical certificate; no positive drug tests in the last 12 months
• Authorized to work in the U.S. and pass an E-Verify check
