Job summary

Salt City Trucking in Georgetown, DE is seeking a CDL-A Local Live Haul Driver for a home-daily schedule on a Monday–Friday basis. You will transport live chickens from local farms to the processing facility with an average of 1,024 miles per week and 15–20 stops.

Starting pay includes about $80,000 per year with a $5,000 bonus, plus stop and safety pay like $20/hour training. Orientation is completed online and CDL requirements apply.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL.
• Minimum 3 months of verifiable Class A CDL experience.
• Clean driving record.
• DOT Medical Card.
• No SAP drivers.
• Ability to secure chicken cages using a cheater bar.
• Ability to operate on challenging farm roads and routes.

Responsibilities

• Pick up and deliver live chickens from local farms to the processing facility.
• Operate flatbed trailers.
• Average 3-4 inbound loads per day.
• Approximately 15-20 stops per week.
• Secure chicken cages at farms using a cheater bar.
• Farm routes include grades, bumps, and ditches.
• Drivers are responsible for proper load securement.
• Complete orientation online.
