Job summary

Velocity TruckingPros LLC is seeking an experienced Class A driver for a dedicated local intermodal role in the Chicago area. You will haul local container loads from Chicago rail yards, perform mostly drop-and-hook runs, and return home nightly to your own bed.

The position offers a permanent night shift with weekend work included in rotation, strong weekly earnings ($1,200–$1,400 gross), and night/weekend load premiums. Must have CDL-A, DOT card, clean MVR and pass pre-employment drug screen.

Qualifications

• CDL‑A license and valid DOT Medical Card.
• Clean driving record and pass pre-employment drug screen.
• 6 months CDL‑A experience in last 3 years, or 12 months in last 5 years.
• Residence within 25 miles of Chicago, IL (60608).

Dedicated Local Intermodal Driver – High CPM + Bonuses

Hey drivers, got a great night slot open for experienced Class A pros in Chicago who want high-mileage earnings without living out of a sleeper cab.

You’ll be pulling local container loads out of the Chicago rail yards and running regional turns into IL, WI, MI, IA, and IN, all while getting home every single night to sleep in your own bed.

Quick Look at the Position

Money: $1,200 to $1,400 weekly average gross. Starts at $0.62 CPM base, plus $20.00 extra per load.

Extra Shift Premiums:

• +$0.06/mile for weeknights (Mon–Fri, 7 PM – 4 AM)
• +$0.12/mile for weekends (Fri 7 PM – Mon 4 AM)

Home Time

100% Home Daily.

Shift

Permanent Night Shift (weekend work is part of the standard rotation).

The Freight

Intermodal containers out of Chicago rail yards. Mostly drop-and-hook with some live loads/unloads.

Holidays

You only work if it lands on your regular schedule day.

Driver Requirements

Residence: Must live within 25 miles of Chicago, IL (60608).

Experience

Experienced solo drivers only (no trainees/teams). Need at least 6 months CDL‑A experience in the last 3 years, or 12 months in the last 5 years.

Valid Class A CDL, current DOT Medical Card, clean driving record, and pass a pre‑employment drug screen. No endorsements required.
