Job summary

State Steel Supply Co. is seeking a Driver to prepare and secure delivery loads, and inspect vehicles using the DVIR process. You will follow routes, keep the vehicle clean, and adhere to DOT and FMCSA hours-of-service regulations. Hazmat and power equipment safety duties may apply.

Requires reading, writing and basic arithmetic, a valid state license (A or B), and a strong safety record. The role may involve early mornings, weekends and overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• Valid state-issued driver’s license (Class A for tractor trailer or Class B for straight truck).
• Reading, writing and basic arithmetic proficiency required.
• For straight truck drivers: verifiable experience or training.
• For semi drivers: 2 years verifiable tractor-trailer experience.
• Exceptional driving record required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and secure delivery loads.
• Inspect vehicle via Daily Vehicle Inspection Report (DVIR).
• Follow planned route to destination.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and observe safety procedures.
• Comply with DOT/FMCSA Hours of Service rules and Hazmat handling as applicable.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
