Job summary

Woodgrain, Inc. is seeking a dedicated Distribution Local CDL A Driver for our Newington, CT location. You will safely operate tractor-trailer units, perform inspections, secure cargo, and deliver products to customers according to the defined route and schedule.

The role requires current CDL A, DOT medical card, and strong time-management skills, with emphasis on safety and accuracy. You will participate in safety meetings and maintain a professional appearance while representing Woodgrain in

Qualifications

• Minimum 21 years of age.
• 18+ months verifiable tractor-trailer experience within the past 3 years.
• Over the Road drivers – 2 years verifiable tractor trailer experience within the past 3 years.
• No more than 2 moving violations within the past 3 years and no more than 3 within 7 years.
• No DUIs within the last 7 years.
• No reckless driving or leaving the scene in the past 3 years.
• No at-fault DOT recordable accidents in the past 3 years.
• Current Class A CDL.
• Effective time management and organizational skills.
• High level attention to detail.
• Good speaker and willing to give presentations.
• Excellent analytical skills.
• SAP experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor/trailer per company policies, DOT guidelines and traffic laws.
• Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections of truck and trailer.
• Secure cargo on trailer.
• Make product deliveries according to route and schedule.
• At customer locations, open/close and secure trailer curtains/doors for unloading.
• Verify product with scanner and inspect during unloading.
• Obtain customer signatures on POD and submit to Dispatcher.
• Keep truck and trailer clean and well-maintained.
• Operate Mobile Electronic On-Board Recording Device.
• Report equipment and safety issues promptly.
• Attend safety meetings and maintain professional appearance.
