Carpenter Co. in Elkhart, IN is hiring a Spotter/Local CDL A Truck Driver for 2nd shift. The role involves communicating with dock personnel, moving trailers to loading docks, and local deliveries.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must have a valid Class A CDL and preferred six months to one year of driving experience, including backing up a trailer.
• DOT physical and DOT drug test; pass.
• Flexible hours, overtime, holidays, weekends, and call-in with little notice.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-trip checks to ensure trailer compliance with DOT requirements and Carpenter standards.
• Report damage and unsafe conditions prior to shipment release.
• Coordinate trailer movements with Dock Supervisors, Guards, and Drivers.
• Safely move trailers as requested and complete local deliveries as needed.
• Assist Garage personnel and drivers with fueling and equipment cleaning.
• Adhere to all safety, attendance, and conduct rules; maintain equipment cleanliness.
