Job summary

Job Impulse, Inc. is hiring a Local CDL A Driver in Madison, Alabama. Home daily, with a 6:30 AM–3:45 PM schedule on weekdays. Pay is $23.80 per hour. Contract-to-Hire position supporting scrap disposal for local manufacturers and safety-focused operations.

The driver will monitor transfers, log daily work, and operate equipment while ensuring data accuracy and safety standards are followed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required. CDL A license is required.
• 3 months related experience and/or training; Level 2 qualified preferred.
• Ability to read safety rules, manuals and procedures; complete documentation.
• Basic computer skills including word processing.

Responsibilities

• Monitor transfer reports and move coils as needed for production/operations.
• Complete daily log sheet of work completed during shift.
• Follow instructions to perform duties safely and properly.
• Operate equipment as needed to perform job duties.
• Enter data into computer systems accurately.
• Perform visual checks of product to meet standards.
• Maintain safe work area and practices.
• Participate in Kaizen (continuous improvement) programs.

Local CDL A Driver | Madison, Alabama

Pay: $23.80/hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:30 AM–3:45 PM (or completion of work)

Job Impulse is hiring Local CDL Drivers in Madison, Alabama. Work with a leader and create solutions that meet the scrap disposal needs of local manufacturers! Our drivers are at the heart of providing ecological solutions for the environment.

What You'll Do

• Monitor transfer reports and move coils as needed for production/operations.
• Complete daily log sheet of work completed during shift.
• Follow all written instructions to perform job duties properly and safetly.
• Operates equipment as needed to perform job duties.
• Ensures data is entered into the computer system(s).
• Performs visual checks of product to ensure all applicable standards are met.
• Performs all work in a safe manner and ensures safety in the work area.
• Participates in the Kaizen (continuous improvement) program.

What We're Looking For

• High school diploma or GED; 3 months related experience and/or training; Level 2 qualified, CDL A license is required, experience driving tractor trailer and operating heavy equipment is preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, quality manuals, operational procedures and work instructions. Ability to complete necessary documentation. Ability to speak effectively with customers or employees of the organization. Ability to understand and to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Knowledge of metric system.
• Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Basic computer skills including word processing.
• Basic understanding of machine operation and conditions.
