Local CDL A Driver

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

The primary duty of the Driver, known as a Logistics Specialist II (with or without a Crane Operator certification), is to deliver building materials to customers or job sites. Drivers operate within a maximum of a 200-mile radius from their home branch, with deliveries starting and ending at the branch (no overnight stays).

• Safely operate a commercial vehicle in compliance with all DOT regulations
• Lead job site safety by operating all equipment according to local, state, and federal laws
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections
• Verify and confirm inventory loaded on the truck, compare with purchase orders, sign delivery tickets, and confirm addresses and routing information prior to leaving the branch
• Conduct a job site inspection, documenting any existing damage and the location of hazards such as power lines, sprinklers, septic tanks, mailboxes, fences, etc.
• Capture photographs of all building products delivered, following Company Policy

Requirements

• Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
• Ability to load and unload building products weighing up to 100 lbs. each, off a straight bed truck; forklift or Moffett experience is a plus
• Safe driving record with no hit & runs, DWI, or DUI convictions in the last three years; severe violations or multiple accidents in the past year will be reviewed
• Prior commercial driving experience and knowledge of DOT & OSHA safety regulations are advantageous
• Experience in distribution is a plus
• Ability to read, write, understand, and communicate in English
• Minimum age of 18; if crossing state lines or transporting hazardous materials, minimum age is 21
• Must pass a drug test, hold a current DOT medical certificate, and have no positive drug tests in the past 12 months
• Must be a U.S. citizen or authorized to work in the U.S. and pass an E-Verify check
