Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Must obtain and maintain a valid DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate and pass a DOT physical.
• Must meet company driving standards including motor vehicle record review, license verification, and background checks.
• Minimum two years of commercial driving experience.
• Must have basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide).
• Must be able to read, write and communicate in English for the job and safety regulations.
• Candidate must possess a strong safety focus.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-trip safety inspections per Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
• Drive to deliver customer orders and meet scheduled times.
• Visually survey the customer site for hazards.
• Unload and load products using a hand truck, pallet jack or forklift.
• Verify delivery items with customer and obtain proper signatures; resolve discrepancies with management.
• Return to the warehouse after completing the route.
• Complete post-trip paperwork; perform DOT logs and DVIR as required.
• Attend required meetings and follow safety practices and company policies.
• Enter days of week and hours; adhere to DOT Hours of Service regulations.
