Job summary

The Study at University of Chicago is seeking a dependable Public Area / Lobby Attendant to maintain a clean, welcoming environment throughout the hotel. This role covers lobby, Living Room, public restrooms, corridors, elevators, and other guest-facing spaces to ensure a polished hotel presentation.

You will monitor high-traffic areas, respond quickly to spills, assist guests, and coordinate with Housekeeping and other departments.

Qualifications

• Experience in hotel housekeeping or public-area cleaning preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to spot cleanliness and presentation needs.
• Comfort interacting with guests and maintaining a hospitable presence.
• Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 pounds as required.
• Flexible schedule including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and appearance of lobby, Living Room, entrances, restrooms, elevators and other public areas.
• Monitor high-traffic areas and address cleaning or presentation needs promptly.
• Vacuum, sweep, mop, and clean various floor surfaces.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms and replenish supplies.
• Dust and polish furniture and fixtures in public spaces.
• Respond to spills and guest requests promptly and courteously.
• Report maintenance concerns to Engineering or Housekeeping leadership.
• Coordinate with other departments to maintain hotel presentation.
