Chautauqua Institution owns and operates the Chautauqua Hotel Company, a historic full-service hotel with 150 rooms. The Athenaeum Hotel features the Heirloom Restaurant and the Lobby Lounge. It is open from late April through October for conferences and events and operates fully during the summer season from late June through late August.

Compensation

Starting at $16.00/hour, with potential to earn up to $18.00/hour based on experience and qualifications.

Work Day Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and order in the hotel lobby and common areas.
• Assist guests and direct them to the reception desk.
• Remove trash, clean and dust furniture, fixtures, and decor.
• Ensure lobby and restroom cleanliness and supplies.
• Arrange furniture for guest comfort.
• Report maintenance issues and safety concerns immediately.
• Follow OSHA standards for safety and handling potentially infectious materials.
• Collaborate with team members and management.
• Participate in meetings and training, sharing expertise with new hires.
• Report injuries immediately using proper procedures.

Referral Program

Offer of a $500 referral bonus for active employees referring new hires who stay for at least 90 days, or 30 days for seasonal positions.

Schedule

Flexible, seasonal schedules starting in June and ending in August, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Final schedule to be confirmed at hiring.

Housing

Limited on-site housing may be available; candidates should plan for their own housing arrangements.
