Job summary

Cathay Bank in Los Angeles, CA is seeking a Loan Support professional to assist the lending team with client service and loan processing. You will coordinate with multiple units to close commercial loans and ensure timely disclosures while maintaining compliance.

The role requires 2–3 years of corporate commercial lending experience, strong financial analysis and communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Education: College graduate with a major in accounting, finance, or business preferred.
• Experience: 2–3 years of corporate commercial lending and banking experience with knowledge of lending regulations, loan funding/closing, and credit/underwriting practices.
• Skills/Ability: PC, good verbal and written communication skills, organized and detail oriented, knowledge of credit underwriting policies and approval process, ability to manage funding/closing and complex loan issues, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, strong financial analysis and accounting skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality client service and follow up on outstanding items.
• Prepare required disclosure information within designated time frames.
• Ensure compliance with Bank, regulatory and credit requirements with emphasis on quality client service while adhering to deadlines.
• Assist with mentoring and training loan assistants.
• Assist in monitoring loan covenants and insurance.
• Upload loan-related documents to imaging system.
• Prepare periodic reports.

General Summary

Following established policies and department procedures, support Loan Officers in client service and loan processing. Assist in monitoring and training assistant-level staff.

DIRECT REPORTS

This position has no direct reports.

Essential Functions

• Support the lending team’s client service and loan processing.

• Skills/Ability: PC Good verbal and written communication skills. Organized and detail oriented. Good knowledge of Bank’s credit underwriting policies and approval process for assigned loans. Ability to manage loan funding/closing and complex loan issues. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high production environment. Strong financial analysis and accounting skills.

ON-GOING TRAINING

• Each team member is required to complete all required training including Compliance and Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering training suitable to his or her position within the Bank.

Pay Range

$25.48 - $38.94/hour

Pay determined based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.

This position may be eligible for a discretionary bonus.
