Job Description

As a Loan Review Associate Consultant at United Bankers' Bank, you will utilize your attention to detail and technical expertise in reviewing loan documents to ensure client banks maintain acceptable credit standards and that their loans conform to their company's policies. Your experience and professionalism will assist you in writing formal reports on your findings and provide feedback, recommendations, and agreed-upon corrective actions with client banks. This is generally a remote, work-from-home position that requires self-discipline and self-motivation. Candidates in the greater Minneapolis-St. Paul area will have the option of working from the UBB Headquarters in Bloomington, MN.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Reviews loan documents to ensure that acceptable credit standards are maintained and that loans conform to established company policy.
  • Completes post approval analysis of loan requests.
  • Analyzes approval of existing loans to ensure ongoing credit worthiness and compliance with loan terms.
  • Analyzes internal controls and administrative procedures to identify gaps in the bank’s credit and underwriting policies and procedures.
  • Computes cash flow for individual transactions and global debt service.
  • Validates the bank’s risk assessment process for assigning and maintaining loan grades.
  • Verifies adequacy of analysis for loan loss on individual loans.
  • Provides feedback to Loan Officers and bank management on review issues.
  • Assists in writing formal reports on findings, recommendations and agreed upon corrective actions.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks and participating in professional societies.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience working with commercial loans
  • Ability to travel 10 percent of the time including overnight travel
  • Must have a valid driver’s license in good standing
  • Thorough understanding of post approval credit analysis, calculating cash flows, loan documentation, loan structure and loan regulations
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

Pay Range
  • $65,000.00 – $75,000.00 Salary; depending on education, qualifications, experience
  • Annual bonus target: 6% of annual pay dependent on company and personal performance
