Job summary

Seneca Savings Bank N.A. is seeking a meticulous Loan Processor/Servicer to support consumer, mortgage, and commercial loan processing and servicing. You will ensure accurate preparation, timely processing, and proper servicing of loan accounts while assisting customers, branches, and partners.

The role requires knowledge of lending operations, regulatory compliance, and document management, with emphasis on lien filings, payoff processing, and TRID documentation.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required; Associate's degree in Business, Finance, or a related field preferred.
  • Two to three years of banking experience preferred, including lending, loan operations, branch operations, teller functions, or related banking activities.
  • Strong knowledge of consumer, mortgage, and/or commercial lending operations preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and explain complex information clearly.
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills with a professional and courteous approach.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time management abilities.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Accurate data entry skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, and other business software.
  • Ability to work effectively with internal departments, customers, attorneys, vendors, and external partners.
  • Experience with banking, lending, and loan servicing systems preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support mortgage and consumer loan processing and servicing, ensuring timely preparation and accurate maintenance of loan accounts.
  • Respond to loan inquiries via phone, mail, email, and in person; assist customers with payments and account maintenance.
  • Review daily loan payment exceptions; prepare payoff letters and coordinate lien releases with vendors and county offices.
  • Utilize loan servicing systems to upload documents, generate reports, and maintain file accuracy.
  • Assist with delinquency management and collateral monitoring; support originators with coordination and TRID documentation.
  • Coordinate lien filings, disbursements, and post-closing maintenance; ensure compliance with bank policies.

Job Summary:

The Loan Processor/Servicer is responsible for supporting all aspects of consumer, mortgage, and commercial loan processing and servicing. This position ensures accurate and timely preparation, processing, maintenance, and servicing of loan accounts while providing exceptional support to customers, branch staff, lending personnel, and business partners. This role requires a strong understanding of lending operations, regulatory compliance, documentation, collateral management, loan servicing, and customer service. The Loan Processor/Servicer contributes to the efficient operation of the lending function by maintaining accurate records, supporting loan closings, managing collateral and lien documentation, resolving servicing issues, and ensuring adherence to Bank policies and regulatory requirements.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Mortgage and Consumer Loan Processing and Servicing:
  • Respond to mortgage and consumer loan inquiries via phone, mail, email, and in person.
  • Assist customers with loan payments, account maintenance requests, and account-related questions.
  • Review daily mortgage and consumer loan payment exceptions and process corrections or reversals as needed.
  • Prepare mortgage and consumer loan payoff letters and provide payoff information for processing.
  • Complete mortgage discharges and coordinate lien release activities with external vendors and county offices.
  • Utilize loan servicing systems to scan and upload documents, retrieve reports, maintain loan files, and generate reports.
  • Perform quality control reviews on newly closed mortgage loans.
  • Maintain loan-related system information, rates, and parameters as required.
  • Order inspections and bringdowns for mortgage files and process loan disbursements.
  • Support Mortgage Loan Originators with loan processing, underwriting coordination, file organization, and TRID-compliant documentation.
  • Enter new loans, disburse funds, and complete post-closing maintenance for mortgage and consumer loan files.
  • Coordinate with attorneys and third parties to obtain recorded and final loan documents.
  • Submit and maintain liens on vehicles, recreational vehicles, and other collateral through DMV, UCC, and other filing systems.
  • Process lien releases and UCC terminations upon loan payoff.
  • Review and validate HMDA data for completeness, accuracy, and compliance.
Commercial Loan Processing and Servicing:
  • Support commercial relationships by responding to customer and branch staff inquiries and resolving servicing issues.
  • Prepare, review, and process commercial loan documentation to ensure timely and accurate closings.
  • Create and maintain commercial credit, loan, and mortgage files using digital resources.
  • Develop and maintain processing procedures while remaining proficient in commercial lending systems and platforms.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and the Bank's loan policies.
  • Promote excellent customer service and maintain positive relationships with customers, vendors, and business partners.
  • Perform daily commercial loan rate maintenance and system updates.
  • Upload collateral reports and prepare periodic management and Board reports.
  • Maintain property inspection tracking and request required environmental certifications.
  • Manage collateral administration, including UCC filings, life insurance assignments, and payoff discharges.
  • Assist with delinquency management and collateral monitoring activities.
  • Review system communications, enhancements, and year-end processing requirements relating to commercial lending platforms.

Equipment, Machines and Software Used:
  • Basic Equipment and Machinery: Basic personal computer skills that include the ability to send/receive e-mail messages, post information to a database or spreadsheet, and perform basic word processing, bookkeeping, and/or data entry.   • Ability to operate a computer, printer, scanner, copier, facsimile machine, telephone, postage meter and calculator.
  • Computer Software: Ability to utilize Windows Operating system, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), Adobe Acrobat, and banking and lending software with the willingness to learn new software, as necessary.
Physical and Mental Requirements:
  • While performing the duties of this position, the Retail Loan Processor/Servicer is regularly required to, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, sit, stand, walk, push, pull, lift, use fingers, grasp, feel, talk, hear, and perform repetitive motions.
  • The physical requirements of this position call for the ability to lift, move, push, pull, or otherwise exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
  • Close mental and visual attention required to perform work dealing primarily with preparing and analyzing data and figures, using a computer terminal, and/or extensive reading.
Environmental Conditions:

There is no exposure to adverse environmental conditions. Work is performed in a typical office work environment.

The base pay range for this position is $20.63 - $24.00 per hour. Exact offers will be determined based on job related knowledge, skills, and experience.
