Merchants Mortgage & Trust Corporation (MMTC) is a private real estate lender with a broad bridge loan program portfolio. The Loan Originator will source, vet, foster, and close relationships with builders and borrowers in residential Fix & Flip, Ground Up construction, and related spaces.

Role requires strong communication, proactive mindset, and the ability to work in a fast-paced sales environment. Competitive base salary plus commissions is offered along with full benefits and remote/office

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 2+ years of bridge loan origination experience.
• Established book of business and $3M+ monthly self-sourced pipeline.
• Proficient in Excel, LinkedIn and Teams.

Responsibilities

• Identify, develop, and close prospective bridge loan borrowers.
• Cultivate and maintain strong borrower relationships.
• Obtain required paperwork and financial information from borrowers.
• Report business development and sales activity.
• Meet with new and existing prospects.
• Develop and execute business plans with market/competitor analysis.

Compensation: 150k/ year to 250k/ year (base + commission)

Role Summary/Purpose

The Loan Originator will be responsible for sourcing, vetting, fostering, and closing relationships for Merchants Mortgage & Trust's various Bridge Loan programs. Candidates should have relevant experience in providing builders with Bridge financing and should have relationships with loan borrowers active in the residential real estate Fix & Flip & Ground Up construction space. Candidates should be highly motivated, have strong communication skills and the ability to thrive in a competitive yet rewarding sales position.

• Identify, develop, and close on prospective bridge loan borrowers
• Cultivate and maintain strong business relationships with borrowers
• Obtain all required paperwork and financial information from perspective borrowers

Eligibility Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required
• 2 or more years of experience originating bridge loans and a minimum monthly self-sourced pipeline of $3m
• Established book of business
• Excel, Word and basic computer skills
