Position Summary
The Loan Officer develops loan prospects within a designated market for various loan programs. The ideal candidate will build a referral network with banks and support organizations, become a resource for industry professionals, and maintain a pipeline of pre-qualified loan leads. Compensation includes a base salary plus incentives based on loan delivery and funding.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Engage proactively with community stakeholders—banks, lenders, support organizations, networking groups, government agencies—to establish meaningful relationships and generate loan opportunities.
  • Create speaking opportunities to attract loan leads and expand the referral network within the assigned area.
  • Represent CDC at business and industry events.
  • Review financial data (tax returns, statements) to pre-qualify and analyze loan applications according to CDC credit guidelines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, economics, finance, or equivalent experience in sales.
  • 1-2 years of sales experience, preferably in finance products/services.
  • Knowledge of commercial or small business credit, ideally within a mission-driven or SBA loan context.
  • Existing market contacts and network.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Strong sales and presentation skills, with the ability to educate audiences on lending programs and CDC advantages.
  • Proven success in prospecting and developing referral networks.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Spanish proficiency is a plus.

Benefits

The salary range is $74,828 - $85,000, with additional monthly and quarterly commissions. This is a remote role focused on LA. All employees must be authorized to work in the U.S. (no visa sponsorship). CDC is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusion.
