Job summary

Tri Pointe Homes' mortgage affiliate Tri Pointe Connect is seeking a Loan Officer to join our Orange County team on-site with builders. You will build local relationships, guide customers through financing options, and ensure compliant lending practices for FHA, VA and Conventional loans.

The role requires 3–5 years in processing or origination, a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, strong communication, and the ability to manage a large loan pipeline while delivering exceptional customer service.

Tri Pointe Connect, the mortgage affiliate of Tri Pointe Homes, is looking for an experienced individual to join our talented group in Orange County as a Loan Officer.

Position Highlights: The Loan Officer is responsible for building and growing local relationships with the Tri Pointe Homes’ New Home Advisors in each community. Additional responsibilities include continually identifying, developing, and maintaining customer financing objectives, advising customers of product/pricing policies and guidelines while gathering any additional required information. The Loan Officer ensures exceptional customer service by maintaining thorough knowledge of lending programs, policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements for FHA, VA and Conventional Loans. This position will be located on-site with the builder partner and will be attending/participating in on-site meetings with the New Home Advisors.

Responsibilities:

  • In conformity with company policies, procedures, and applicable law, the Loan Officer will collect and analyze each customer's financial information and assess if the individual can qualify for a specific loan product.
  • Advise the potential borrower regarding the risks and benefits of the loan alternatives, including the options and variables involved.
  • Discuss the loan products available to best meet the needs of the individual depending on their circumstances.
  • Ascertain all pertinent documentation to ensure the loan is approved. Obtain necessary supporting documentation and verify that the supporting documentation matches the information in the LOS.
  • Communicate effectively and manage relationships with all parties to include the homebuyer, New Home Advisors, Processing team, Underwriting team, Closing, title company, and the builder partner.
  • Perform the Rate Lock function, negotiating interest rates as necessary while staying within branch pricing parameters.
  • Manage personal production and ensure closings are handled appropriately and timely.
  • Meet and/or exceed company benchmarks established by leadership.
  • Demonstrate the highest level of professionalism and customer service towards all customers.
  • Attend weekly meetings as required.
  • Use the appropriate Automated Underwriting System and submit loans to the Underwriting department.
  • Maintain a strong working knowledge of how to originate loans based on the state, federal, and investor guidelines.
  • Maintain a thorough working knowledge of all products, attend relevant continuing education classes, and pass all required state/national exams as required.
  • Support any/all mortgage related training initiatives within Tri Pointe Connect and Tri Pointe Homes teams.
  • Ability to take on new responsibilities and duties as directed by leadership.

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of processing or origination experience, preferably within a builder environment

Skills:

  • Thorough knowledge of all mortgage products to include FHA, VA, and Conventional loans
  • Working knowledge of loan origination systems, Encompass a plus
  • Working knowledge of automated underwriting systems
  • Strong overall computer skills, specifically Microsoft office products

Physical Requirements:

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Base Salary: The expected Base Salary range for this position is between $16.90 and $16.90 per hour, equivalent to $35,152.00 per year, depending on experience and skillset. Base Salary is paid bi-weekly, every other Friday.
  • Bonus: This position is eligible for c ommission payments and a monthly b onus, which are earned, calculated and paid in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Company’s applicable compensation agreement.
